Take the Next Step Towards Better Mobility
Consult our orthopaedic specialist at BTMC to discuss your condition, treatment options and recovery needs.
The BTMC Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence manages a wide range of bone, joint, and musculoskeletal conditions, including joint pain and arthritis, bone fractures (both common and complex), sports-related injuries, spinal conditions such as slipped disc and degenerative spine disease, foot and ankle disorders, shoulder injuries, and osteoporotic fractures. Many conditions are first assessed for non-surgical management before surgical options are considered.
Your orthopaedic surgeon performs robotic-assisted joint replacement, with robotic guidance providing additional precision in bone preparation and implant positioning. The technology does not perform the surgery independently. It supports the surgeon, adding greater accuracy during the procedure. Your specialist will assess whether this approach is appropriate for your condition and overall health before recommending it.
You do not necessarily require a referral to make an appointment with an orthopaedic specialist at BTMC. You can contact us directly to arrange a consultation. If you have been referred by your general practitioner or another specialist, please bring any relevant medical records, imaging results, or referral letters to your appointment so your specialist has a complete picture of your condition.
Recovery time varies depending on the type of procedure, your age, overall health, and how well your body responds to treatment. A joint replacement typically allows patients to resume light daily activities within a few days, with more complete recovery taking several months. More complex procedures, such as spinal surgery or limb reconstruction, may involve a longer rehabilitation period. Your orthopaedic team will provide a realistic and personalised recovery plan before your procedure.
Yes. Many orthopaedic conditions can be managed without major surgery, particularly in their earlier stages. Non-surgical options may include physiotherapy, activity modification, and pain management techniques such as Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) or Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression (PLDD) for certain spine conditions. Your specialist will discuss all appropriate options with you during your consultation before any treatment decision is made.
Yes. BTMC provides on-site physiotherapy and occupational therapy as part of the orthopaedic care pathway. BTMC coordinates your rehabilitation programme alongside your orthopaedic care, whether you are recovering from surgery or managing a condition without it, to support your return to daily activities safely.
